I like the CD7 broke back shad this will work for everything trout, crappy, cat fish.
You did not say if you are trolling or what, I like to troll with lead core line 18lbin depth where fishfinder tells me where the fish are.

Depends on WHICH kind of trout and the enviroment you are targeting them in....

Be specific...

as noted above all will work but certain models and colors will apply so that you maximize your odds of success.

Silver and fire tiger for Rainbow depending on fish preference and sometimes water clarity (gold even sometimes)

Gold or rainbow for browns (silver works very well but in that order basically)

depth and action are important too..each model has their own character and finesse

Straight floater, broken-back sinker all work but all actually have a different presentation, unless I KNOW where the fish are patterened, I bring all versions !

I come from a world where it's better to have it and not need it....then need it and not have it !...

I guess the better question would be: where are you going to fish ?

I'd assume somewhere colder since ur looking for trout .....

(p.s. this would best be posted in the freshwater general forum and you'll get more responses-just fyi)

Last but not least - be creative when working it...straight retrive produces fish but a twitch and pause added in variable frequency and power will produce more and bigger fish generally..
