7/29 left northridge at 8:30 on my way to palmdale to pick up a buddy, got to his house about 9:15 loaded up & was on the road to browns town at 9:45...pulled into browns town parking lot at about 1:15....set the poles up for tomorrows first fishing spot..then got comfy in the car for a few hrs of zzzz....heard my other buddy's pull up about 2:30am.....told them where going to try the owens at warm springs in the morning till browns town opens & get our camp spots...
7/30 alarm goes off at 5am & the group is off to warm springs by 5:30...about my 5th cast with a white rooster tail i get the first hook up of the trip & she was landed a good 1.5lber threw her back..... (that fish jus won me $30 lol we have a $5 first fish & biggest fish jackpot)....that was the only fish or bite for that spot & left there about 7:30 & get some denny's....after denny's my buddy & i decide to go see if browns is open & get checked in...they let us check in & my buddy & i set up our camp & stuff while the other guys are up at south lake....my buddy & i decide where going to hit the streams & work our way up to the guys at south lake...i get a couple more smallies working the streams we get up to south lake no parking & cant find the other buds so we decide jus to have a stream day for the rest of the day... We worked the streams up & down from sabrina down for no fish & decided to head back to camp at 4...........the rest of the group comes back around 5:30 they rented a boat up at south lake for a 1/2 day for no fish but some nasty sunburns lol....after they rented the boat they went to north lake to look for us (i had told them early they had stocked north for the first time this year & i had a feeling it was going to be good lol)..well they get to north lake & nail about 8 stockers in a hr o so & saying there's fish everywhere lol....so we make the plan to head to north lake sat morning & check it out.......
Sat 7/31 alarm goes off at 5 & the group is off to north lake by 5:45 my first line is wet at 6:30...2nd cast with a orange roster tail hook up 1lb stocker....5th cast another stocker...then my power bait pole goes off stocker on hatcher pellet, re-bait it with salmon peach toss her out there...switched to a chart rooster 6th cast stocker...2nd cast stocker...1st cast stocker.....17th cast stocker lol yes it pretty much (wfo) as my buddies are on them also...it became more of what can we through at them that they wont hit...i was on a 20 cast pattern as every 20th cast id change my lure & i rarely went 20 casts w/o a hook up till about noon when it slowed down a bit by this time all 6 of us had 5 on our stringers all fish on bait....so some of the group at this time want to head back down to camp & eat/relax....i was like na forget that i came up here to fish im going to fish this lake out lol...well 2 buddies & i ended up staying & slaying them till about 6pm....don't have a count on how many fish i or we caught but it was a lot lot lot i've never ever had a day like that.........
8/1 sun was departure day so my buddy & i head back up to north lake while the rest of the group packs there stuff up & get breakfast..again i came here to fish im going to fish this lake out lol...we get up there by 6 & start throwing...guess what nada nothing i managed 2 fish on garlic pb & my buddy finally got the skunk off at the last spot we tried before getting to the car left to head down to pack up camp at 10am that's fishing
baits used-n/c pb hatchery pellet, salmon peach, garlic,rainbow,fl. Orange,chart...the top producers where salmon peach & garlic
lures used-rooster tails all colors,panther martin yellow red,super dooper red/silver,thomas buyout red/gold,mini jigs & power worms many colors, kastmasters all colors,little devils....the top producers where jus about anything orange.....orange power worms then orange rooster then red/gold thomas buoyant
