Kern River right above the Hatchery, next to So Cal Edison... any advice.

So they wife decided she wanted to get out and chill out and try to fish. 2 hours later we end up at the kern river.. tried some power bait, some lures, and even a few night crawlers and nothing, maybe its cuz it was around 130pm, any advice
saw some beautiful nice sized trout!!!

When I go there, I always use Salmon Eggs but I go early morning.
