Great night at the Vine! 07-31-10

There's no need to adjust your monitor. I am in fact writing a report. I still do fish, but I haven't been doing so as often lately.

That said, I picked Bullets up and headed over to the Vine for my first catfish outing of the summer. We arrived a little before 5 pm, rented a boat and headed out. The first spot we hit up looked really fishy, and it was but not quite what we were hoping for. There were a lot of bluegill and other assorted small fish, and since the larger models didn't feel like playing we messed around with them for a little while.

Bullets did manage to pull out a decent bluegill that had a really colorful belly.

That got old after about an hour so we headed off looking for greener pastures. We did a complete loop around the whole lake before settling on another fishy-looking spot. There really aren't many details as to what happened next, but the catfish bite opened up. Once they started biting the longest wait between bites was probably 10 minutes. There were a lot of swing-and-misses though. I hooked into something with some serious shoulders, but the hook popped out about 10 seconds into the battle. I still managed a limit, and Bullets managed two before we decided to leave around 10:30 pm.

LMAO at the pictures, cool shades Bullets! Sorry I missed you guys out there. Fishing for the kittys was GREAT yesterday...only managed to find the smaller units, but the action was nonstop. Hope to see you guys Saturday at the next qualifier.
