I'm going out on Seabiscuit from Channel IH. They say we will target seabass and also wrangle up some rock fish. Can someone give me a clue as to what I should be taking, common rigging, bla...bla...bla. I've never fished for w/seabass before.

I have appropriate poles/reels with 25-40lb. line.

Thanks for any help.

20-40 pound line. Dropper loop, reverse dropper loop rig will work. Other option fish a heavy iron with a squid or two hooked onto it. Fresh dead squid with a 1/2-1oz leadhead depending on conditions will work also. Seabass love squid so live or fresh dead works best.

Don't rip too hard on them they have soft mouths and can pull hooks.

Ok, thanks for the hints. I'll keep those things in mind and it looks like I have all the appropriate gear in the box.

I'll report back on the trip early next week.
