Departed Fisherman's Landing on Day 1, picked up bait and got our tackle ready. Day 2, trolled all day for albies with the rest of the fleet. Two stops during morning gray light for 4 albies to 20 pounds. Day 3, fished just off Cedros (the tuna ground had 5+ foot wind swells) for 300 school sized yellowtail in the 15-18 pound range. Went inside where we picked up 3 larger home guard yellows to 42 pounds (the jackpot fish). Day 4, still having strong winds and swells in the tuna grounds so we went for big red at a rock pile. :Big Grin: We picked up 3 halibut drifting off Jeronimo Island then headed back for the tuna grounds. Day 5, trolled all day (with the rest of the fleet) for 8 albies then back to Fisherman's. Saw the Freedom and heard they picked up 71 albies.
Although the tuna fishing was slow for the fleet, we enjoyed great food, terrific crew and shared some good stories. :Envious: Next year, we are planning to make it a 7 day trip!
