I've read that sometimes these monsters are near the end of there life and past prime breeding age.
Kinda like a 500 lb 80 year old woman, not common and past her prime ?

I doubt she was past her prime once a female fish reaches maturity generally it will continue through the spawn cycles until it is caught or dies. I wish that fish was released it was breeder plus it probably was helping us out with seal population.

Amen about the seals but I am not to sure Makos eat seals much. I always believed they ate fish mostly. Either way I would of let that one go. Its nice to see a big fish though.
