South Kern

Went up to the Kern river this past weekend. Stayed at Fairview on the north fork. On Saturday we decided to head up to the Monache Meadows to do a bit of 4x4 and look into the south fork. What a beatiful area.

Afterward we stopped at a small creek near Blackstation where i finally got to catch a golden trout which i have wanted to do for as long as i can remember.

What a beautiful fish, thanks for posting up the picture....good thing you got out of there before the fires started, hopefully all the residents and our FNN friends are doing okay up there.

did u try fishing the river above where the road ends at the campsite, the farther u go the bigger they get
