Went there with my dad yesterday Caught around a million small blue gill once again, lost a few because of me not setting the hook. They were eating small flies off the surface of the water. Saw a carp or two surface. My dad got the :Skunk: . Gonna try to head out there next weekend to see if we can catch a carp. Sorry no pics.

Sounds like you and your dad did well! Congrats! I used to love catching them back when I was fishing with my dad many many years ago.

I was there on Saturday with a buddy. Aside from catching a ton of bluegill the lake caught me. I slipped on the bank of the fourth lake and went in. Got out quick though, no damage to my cellphone. Pictures coming later.

Dude that is hilarious! I damn near fell in yesterday! Was it where the concrete has fallen into the lake?

No it was the forth lake, I was crouched down with my fly rod trying to sneak cast to them 5 feet out. Muddy bank broke loose I went in :)

Oh. How is the fly fishing at this lake? When ever I go I see an older gentleman fly fishing for blue gill.

It really depends on where you fish El Dorado. In the wide open spots of second and third lake its easy, if you want to fish horseshoe and channel spots between third and fourth lake its hard. There is very little room to backcast. So your ability to roll-cast and get a long line out is very important.

Thanks Hosh! What flies work best at this lake?

Depends on what you are trying to catch, for the Bluegill small dry flys like Adams and elk hair caddis are good. I had luck with a dry ant pattern and Griffens gnatt as well.

For the bass, try Clouser's, poppers and terestrials.

LOL! Yeah man it was me.

When all was said and done though I was pretty happy with the chilled shorts for the rest of the day. My buddy snagged a photo of my smallest catch of the day in front of my wet *** clothes, waiting on him to link me to it.
