Huntington Lake 07/16/10 - 07/20/10

Had another great run up at Huntington Lake. Technically I believe it's the Western Sierra, but this is probably a good enough place to post the report. For those that have not spent time in the Western Sierra's it is beautiful. Full of tall trees and all the stuff you would expect from the Mountains. We stayed up at Rancheria campground. They informed me it will be closed next year for improvements, so those that camp there keep that in mind. This lake is honestly my favorite place in all the Sierras due to its beauty.

The fishing was pretty much wide open on Rainbow's. The only problem was most of them were 4-8" long. Plenty of fish to be caught though so it makes for a busy day. The majority of our fish were caught with Powerbait. We had some luck with the Gold Kastmaster, but for the most part they liked the Powerbait.

Next weekend is the Bishop Creek trip so I'll post up a report once I get back.

This guy gave me laughs for the whole trip. Kinda looks like Sponge Bob Square Trout. No idea whats wrong with him, but we actually caught him again two days later.
