Had a Dr. Appointment in Newport so threw the rod in the truck and made a quick stop out on Balboa Island today after the appointment. Short version 1st Cast a 10" spotty. Zippo after that. Took a picture but I figured you've all seen enough 10 inch spotties.

yes we have, mostly on my post...lol, even though there 10in they fight better than 5lb lmb...goodtimes on the quick run, wait till a batray takes your line by mistake, then you'll know what kinda reel you got....drag racing..

a ten incher is a nice one IMO. The island can be tough. But there ARE big ones around there!
