Headed to Tahoe for the first time Friday. We have a guide trip on Lake Tahoe for Sunday for Lake trout and salmon. We are in Genoa, south east of Lake Tahoe. Any advice for smaller lakes and streams in the area is awesomely appreciated! D I will post results.

Give Fallen Leaf Lake a shot. I rented a boat there and had a bonanza day... which included a 20.4 Mackinaw (and a gang of Rainbows over 3 pounds)
Word of caution though...if it looks like thunderstorms are building up...head in as quickly as possible. I was in the middle of the lake when a huge T-Storm hit. Fallen Leaf is a fairly large lake and getting back in at 5 mph with lightning striking all around an aluminum boat can be a bit unnerving.
