7-11 slow day

We fished from about 6:30 - noon, no wind early, hot and partly cloudy, had to start stripping down around 8am. We started with a gleam in our eyes dreaming of topwater action. Conditions seemed pretty good for it, but we didn't get a single blowup. Saw some bait being chased on the shoreline and finally picked up a few fish on plastics. Really a slow day overall with under 10 bass caught and no big ones. Later in the morning the bluegill started grabbing our plastics so we switched over and caught a few on nightcrawlers. Overall a great time on the water just wish the bite would have been better.

Monitor the barrometric pressure fluxuations......when the barrometer is more steady (high OR low-but consistent) I'd lay money the bite gets better and better grade of feesh....

You might consider kitty fishing on those slower days there......some peegs there !

Thanks Gary, I brought the catfish gear, but we had to be off the water early or we probably would have kicked back and soaked some bait. That and we lost an anchor last week - waiting for a new one to be delivered.

Thanks Lunker, I've gotten smallies the last two times there. The week before I had one blow up on a mikey as I was picking a bird's nest!
