Got to the beach around 6:45am very calm waves, long period swell, but manageable.

conditions were promising, there was some good structure and the water was comfortable.

Tons of fat sandcrabs, most with roe. When the water warms up again, there should be corbina all over this area.

Circle hooks seem to be the best hooks for sand-crabs. I like how the barb alway curls over the second crab on the hook.

First cast resulted in a feisty little Barred surfperch.

Swarms of perch were just sucking the roe out, and leaving the crabs alone, so i reversed the way I hooked them.

A few casts later, and...

ARRRRGH walleyes, gtf away from me!!

I walk into a nice big hole right next to the jetty and cast in....

That's better :lol: This perch was really fat, very pissed, and actually tried to bite me :lol:

First time Ive ever seen that.. LOL acting like a shark!

After that, the marine layer burned off quick, and the perch bite died. If i had got here an hour earlier, i might have found some better fish... oh well.

All fish were released.

Good job with the perch.
I was skunked last time I was there. I was North and South of the river outlet.

I just dont have clippers. My nails grow ridiculously fast.

Man when i was out there yesterday, I stabbed myself in the palm with all of em when I was on the razor. :LOL:

the only scissors we have are too thick to cut fingernails, and we have no file. freakin killing me.

I hit up the surf at HB yesterday and C&R 20 perch. Kinda slow and WAY to many swimmers.

You ever throw any hardplastics in the surf?Sometimes. Normally I'll drop-shot some zoom flukes in pearl/white.

This time of year though, its all about the sandcrabs for me.
