Bishop 7/7-7/9 with pictures

Got to bishop late tuesday night, set up camp and went to bed. Got to South Lake around 1 and fished for about 30 mins for nothing. Decided to make the hike to Long Lake, the hike was great and got a little short of breath. Well we finally made it to Long Lake and wow it was beautiful there but the mosquitoes were brutal. Fished for only about a half hour and got nothing. Got hit hard twice by 2 brookies but they didnt hang on. The wife wasnt happy with the mosquitoes, so it was time to leave. The dogs loved jumping in the lake so that probably didnt help the fishing. They got bit up pretty good on their faces so we headed back. Made it back to the car around 630. Also fished South Lake for about 30 mins and nothing. The next day we hit up PVR and wow was it low and again the mosquitoes were horrible. So we just let the dogs play in the water and headed back to camp. Really didnt do much fishing so hard to call this one an accurate report. Our next trip will be to Mammoth in August so that I can fish and hit up the beer festival.

Long Lake is one of my favorite backcountry lakes. Right up there with 1000 Island Lake and Rae Lakes and...oh...forget it...there's too many to mention.
