Well since it's corbina season, i wanted to make myself some lures.

Here is my idea:

As you guys can see, i have an option to either place a single hook on it's back, or put a small treble hook under it's nose, concealed by the fur skirt trailer you can see illustrated there.

I can easily reproduce that pattern with real paints, so the lure would look almost identical to this design.

I can also have the roe pattern under its tail area.

I think im gonna make a few versions to try out.. maybe a few experienced corbina molesters can help me here.

Thanks for your time, and thank you citydad, for inspiring me to make my own lures.

Also.. where the hell would i find light blueish fur for this?

The treble would probably actually make it harder to hook the fish. Stick with the single hook.

For the bluish fur, go to the flyfishing section at Sports Chalet, they have every type of hair there from color to type of hair (horse, moose, etc.)

I would definitely try putting orange fur under the tail area for roe. You may also want to try, with CityDad's permission, putting a thin layer of silicone over the back when you are done to give it a soft shell crab appearance.

Just watch out in those flyshops Smokehound, they're addictive. You'll start out on the "soft" stuff like deer hair or calf tail - ya know, "just once in a while." Before you know it you're up to Krystalflash and saddle hackle twice a week!!! Pretty soon you'll be making excuses to go to the fly shop to pick up some "essentials" like a full hares mask (that's right I'm talking the entire skin of a rabbit's face - I actually bought one!)
