Obviously, you shouldn't be keeping anything you catch. That's just common sense but maybe it needs to be said.

Fair enough...common sense does seem to be exceedingly rare these days.

Ok, for those guys that need it spelled out....dragging a bloody chum trail behind your float tube....NOT A GOOD IDEA!! :Big Grin:

Ive tubed the kelp beds out of SBC couple years ago, been trying to get some of the guys I go with now to do it. It was wonderfully succesful. The hardest part is getting passed the breaks and then returning (some beaches are better then others for this).

ffLB sounds a little scured about keeping fish while tubing because of the blood and sharks and I guess the possibility of getting attacked. Sharks are not your biggest concerns in 20 ft of water off the so cal coast unless its Great White season... Seals are more willing to take your stringer of fish, but atleast you will still have your legs. The odds are more likely that you will be struck by lightning then to be attacked by a shark.

Kayaking is the best way to get out there and fish the kelp but if you dont have one then the next best thing is a tube. If you really want to tube it shoot me a PM and we'll go from there.

You guys are killing me. Play the Odds. See Odds below.

Do You Believe in Stats ? Your odds are much higher of getting killed driving to the beach in a car.

How about heart disease ? #1 killer in the USA. It took our brother Dana. My big brother had to get a angioplas, almost died, still not healthy. Had 2 buddys pass away last year, both strokes, too big.

Distance swimmers everyday swimming offshore, same with paddle boards.

Scared of Sharks, Ha, you should be scared of driving, much more dangerous.

How many times have you seen a real bad accident ? Alot right.

How many Shark attacks have you read about with guys in the kelp ? Come on, think.

Free divers everyday, in the kelp, dragging dead fish on a clip.

Still scared ? Try a ziplock in in a pouch above the water.

99% of the local sharks take off when they see a diver.
