Yes my brother in law was just called in today to fight the fire at catalina hope it wont spread like it did five years ago.

while it sounds bad, just remember that it DOES keep the island healthy. the native plants there are like the coastal scrubland plants here in socal.

Many of these species require intense flame to permit seed germination. Not only that, but it also enriches the soil with greatly-needed nutrients.
