Went down to try n catch the incoming tide around 9am. I fished the Warner Bridge at Bolsa Chica Wetlands for nada. I went to Big Fish tackle store, got some lug worms and hit sunset. After a3-4 hrs, this is what I have to show. My PB on all, since its my fiest time evercatching anything from the surf!!!

What a mammoth eh!?

right on glad to hear you got on some fish Greg!!! Try tossing out some medium sized sand crabs and 2" peices of the gulp camo sand worms. You'll start owning soon enough. I fish with 6# flouro for the perch 14 for hardbaits, and 20 or more for long pole action.

Yah, No kiddin. First bean I've seen posted in a while. You should put your finger in the sharks mouth for bragging rights.

' Then I stuck my finger in a live Sharks mouth, just to feel the pain '

Don't tell them it was a 20" Leo with sandpaper for teeth.

Nice net, but you really don't need one on the sand.

Great job out there Greg.
Next time try hitting the out going high tide over there. 1oz sliding egg with #4 or #6 hook with live or fesh dead anchovies.
The first of many more surf trips to come, for sure!
Thanks for the report and pics,
Robert

Congrats on your first catch from the surf Greg! :Big Grin: A Perch was also my first fish from the surf and will always have a special place in my heart. Now we need to get a big Flattie in that nice custom net of yours...
