Well yesterday was my birthday, so i decided to fish the living hell out of the harbor.

I checked out every little street alll the way to the wedge. Nada.

But then i made a little turn down a street to a cool dock, lots of sea-lettuce, and TONS of bass.

The dock was crowded with about 10 people, but they were all awesome. Unlike the pier-combat fishing, this was complete courtesy. Everyone made sure everyone could get a fair cast. LOVED seeing that.

After the frying in the sun for a while, the marine layer gained influence, and the bite wayy WFO.

I didnt catch much because i decided to take only softshell sandcrabs =P

Someone on the left corner managed a 24 inch hali, thing was FAT. A few people managed some really nice spotties. I caught the first spottie--- around ten inches, gave me a good run. I also Caught a small Calico bass.

I should have dug for huge sandcrabs, I would have had a pig for sure! Well I'm coming back to this spot, its a good calico spot!

The fish were all in the eelgrass, making the casts a bit annoying, but worth it.

I got sick of using softshells only to have monster bass rip them off the hook, so I bummed a squid from someone.

I finally got what I was pursuing-- A nice little YFC, that thing was a good fighter, seemed to be mimicking the bass with all those headshakes. That was the only keeper for me.

I DO have pics, but it will be a while til i can post em.

yellowfin croaker are beautiful fish. Always a pleasure to catch those.

Those YFC are great fighters for their size. You can catch a ton of them on the gulp 2" sandworms, and w/e else might be swimming around.

AHhhhh getting better, this spotty was small, but very fat, and very strong. Thought it was a larger fish.

Beautiful croaker. Perfect eating size. Great fight. Dispatched quickly and humanely.

If you stick it out and man up, and go the extra distance you WILL catch a fish!

thank you for the comments. I'll get some better fish next time >=D
