Out again for the Wednesday half day boat rental. Another good day for us. Great swimbait bite right out of the gate that lasted for us until about 1100. We could have been catching fish on every cast with scroungers but we went to the big baits. BBZ's!! Expensive lure, but I love it! Went to the Curado / Crucial set-up with braid and I love that too! We caught numerous 4-pounders including a 4-pound Striper. Missed a BIG ONE on the BBZ while I was screwing around with my birds nest....lol. Went to the Drop shot around noon and caught a few....but they were all small. Still in search for some smallies on the lake, gonna do some research and figure out where they are hiding. Thanks for reading and will be back!!

Throw it out there and thry different depths. I also try different speeds on the retrieves. I actually saw a bass following one yesterday and I slowed the retrieve down and he slammed it. You have to play it with and figure out what they will bite. Good luck!

A scrounger is only a weighted hook with a rubber bill, that makes it dance. What plastic you put on the scrounger is the secret. You want to rsemble bait fish. I use small flukes, fluke jrs......like a white color, something that looks like a bait fish.

Fantastic catches at DVL! Looked like a nice day on the water, and you guys had fun. Awesome pictures by the way.

Did you land that Striper in the shallows or off a point? They are usually deep right now so just curious.

Everything comes up early in the morning to chase the bait. Striper was caught in one of the coves on a swim bait.
