2 late reports

Megan and I jumped on a twilight boat out of Dana pt on 6/25.

We had a great time catching short barracuda and a lot of short calico bass. Actually, the action was nonstop, we only managed 5 keepers though. Short trip as the twilight out of Dana only goes from 5:30 to 9:30 but it's cool, we had a blast. Cooked it up on the bar-b-q on Sunday, (margarita lime and garlic rub on cedar plank). yum yum.

the other photos are from an am half day out of newport 6/22. It was kind of a slow day, I was hoping the sand bass or 'cuda was going to bust wide open, but no, same story as above: many short calico and 'cuda and only two keepers (1 calico and 1 sand bass).

Nice report. Im glad dana point is starting to pick up. I want to give that place another chance. Havent been there since some drunk dented my hook and cracked my windshield. Probably shouldnt have parked next to the bars lol. Are you cooking that fish on a wood board on the bbq?

Kendo - good eye... actually 9 out of the 10 filets were on the wood plank; I didn't have room for the last one , so I put it directly on the grill. It still turned out ok, but I sure love cooking on the wood.
