Everyone has been feeling ill in my house. Lack of sleep and lots of work and just a variety of things going on. Sundays is our day to bask happy under the sun. So, we flipped the coin and heads in favor of Piru. I had my heart set on going to Big Lake Castaic. I miss catching those bull fighting bass! So on we went to Lake Piru, California. 6-27-2010 11 am we arrived at the lake. Very sunny! Air temp 83º. Breezy... The day went by really fast as the wind made it difficult to fish at times. Here were the keepers captured on stills... Crankbait, BuzzBait, D/S, Texas...

The next day everything seemed to have gone on a halt! Bites were far and few in between. Where did all the little piggies go? The wind was gusting very violently at times. But this one made up for the rest of them...

Then a few hours later gettin' blown out of hot zones by the wind...

We caught a few dinkers on crankbait and D/S... Fish were in the thick grass... I mean Thick! Hopefully the water level goes up a bit soon. The trolling motor kept gettin' tangled up with huge clusters of grass.
So, Here's the BUMMER OF THE DAY...
We were just trolling along the shores making short casts for almost two hours catching plenty of grass and plenty of strong wind blows. I see a profile of a fish. I pointed it out to YuAyntRyt and he replies with "Oh! that's a small one." Determined to catch a site fish. It could have not been anymore perfect as my bait landed gently next to it and it just picked it up. It didn't swim away or anything-it just sat there with my bait in it's mouth. So, I set the hook and it proceeds to fight and swim down and jump up out of the water and DAMN! :Bug Eyes: IT'S HUGE! IT'S AAAAAAAAAA MONSTER BASS! COULD BE A DD!!! In my excitement, I hung on hoping it doesn't come loose! It pulls down under the boat and swam up and as my husband was ready to net the fish, it tried to jump and it came loose next to the net. OH MY GODS~! DID I JUST DO THAT! DID THE FISH JUST GET AWAY?!:OMG!:
Ok it's gone... In my disappointment, i hung my head really low.:Bawling: So, we drove back the same area and there it is again! just chillin' out... tried to get it to bite but it already got spooked. That fish will now haunt me till i catch my next lunker... This made me forget whatever happened the previous day. I'm very disappointed. It's like a broken record in my mind now...
