I made plans to fish with my good buddy richy aboard the redondo special since we havnt fished together in a while. We met up at the landing around 6:30 and went to hang around the ticket office for a while talking with other anglers and guys in the office as we paid our ticket.,.

what do you know i got lucky number 7 thats always a good sign to look at when heading out fishing
so i took advantage of it and fished my lucky no 7 as hard as i could have.

The boat pulled up and we loaded up with a nice and light load for our trip out.,.,i must give the landing and the boat credit for the light load trip because not alot of money is made for them on these trips. We headed for rocky point where captian eric was getting the seabass along with cudas, calicos and sandbass throughout the week and gave it a try to see what happens.."His Famous Words" The weather was foggy and overcast.,.perfect weather to fish in at that with no sun glaring in your eyes or sunburn to worry about, sure wish the weather was like this all the time.

My buddy richy ordered a breakfast burrito from the clean galley and when it was done he comes around the corner with this huge delicious burrito (sorry) i didnt get a pic of it but it was gigantic
and i am gonna have to make another trip on the special just for this massive meal
http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r428/AROCK1_photos/IMG_0514-1.jpg
with such a light load aboard the redondo special it made is so comfortable and tons of room to fish
i dont think we even had one line tangle.,.it was sweet and i wish every trip was like that.

We arrived to our spot of rocky point and anchored up, the barracudas were on the mini size but jumping all over the boat and this made it fun to catch a few to break the skunk but then the seriousness kicked in and everyone was on a mission to hook up with mr seabass which was coming up in good meter marks on the fishfinder. We did manage to hook two of them but lost them to inexperienced anglers owell that will get them excited and hopefully back out to conquer the ghosts. The bass really started biting the plastics pretty good for a while with alot caught fishing for seabass which was good because there were happy anglers that left with bass for dinner to take home

I was happy to get to fish with my good friend and couldnt have asked for more than that.
We are both very busy guys and it seemed like forever since we had fished but we finally made it out

The afternoon was coming around and it was time to leave so jackpot was called and what do you know .,.,lucky No.7 came thru with the win and of coarse all winnings were given to the crew for there hard work and great help on the boat, thats what ex deckhands do,they deserved it
http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r428/AROCK1_photos/IMG_0511-1.jpg
on the short ride home our deckhand Taras cleaned and gutted our days catch with perfection
with fillets and gill and guts to be taken home for a delicious meal to be had
http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r428/AROCK1_photos/IMG_0517-1.jpg
and i managed to make a friend in the harbor just before leaving the redondo special
something about these cool birds i like alot.,., i named him harry.,.,lol

Hi fishbones,

Nice report and pictures. thank you. Ya .... I like the Pelicans too !! That's not George, as he's too lazy to travel up PV to Rocky Point and ...... I see that Pelican has his own fishing gear including that fluoro line he's using to troll !!

Well Alex, I guess T/O has you figure with that big fish idea.

Seriously though, I was hoping for another WSB.

Those pelicans are great fun, Bong and I go sand dab fishing and the pelicans will come and steal sand dabs get hooked and just wait patiently for you to unhook them. "Thanks for the sand dab, could you unhook me please?"

It's really bold. After I realized that that was actually their plan, I began to enjoy their company.

They don't bother with the mackerel we catch at the same time.
