Belmont Pier.

Took my girlfriend and little brother out to the good ol' Belmont Pier in Long Beach. Ive been fishing this pier since i could even remember, and to be honest, fishing here isnt the same anymore.

Well recently before this short trip, i took my gf fishing for her 1st time behind Long Beach aquarium, and she hooked up on a pretty big corvina. Estimated length would be 24 inches. Too bad we lost it though. Ever sice then, shes been wanting to go fishing cause she actually caught a fish, haha :EyePop:

Earlier on this day before Belmont, we went to Mothers Beach to pump out some Ghost Shrimp. Tied was super low, but it had seemed as if someone had already pumped out most of the shrimp! :Evil: So we only ended up with 5 shrimpies :Sad:

Got to the pier around 9am, lil brother got his texas rig set up to use the ghost shrimps, caught couple short halis, and lost a big fighter. Grabbed my bait net to gather a few smelts...

Bonitas still be wide open during late summer. Sometimes big 5lb'ers hit off the cuda jigs too! Fun stuff.

During morning hours there were no macks. But afternoon & night hours theres plenty. Few nights ago these filipinos caught 2 buckets full. Few spanish macks biting on cut squid as well.
