Reds Meadow

hey all,
Heading up this weekend. Are they stocking that area at all? I'm taking my son out for his first float tube trip. It would be nice for him to start on some stockers..

I may be wrong, but I think that little pond is on the no-stock list. It may have changed, but that's the last I heard.

It doesn't seem that any of the Mammoth area waters have been cleared for stocking:

The lakes in the June Lake loop have been pretty heavily stocked, though...

Looks like the mammoth lakes are on the "stock" list but not on the "cleared" list...go figure.

Steve, Its been a few years since I was down there. I think the first pond\lake you see on the right is called Starkweather and then there's a larger lake over by Reds Meadow called Stocher ( I think those are the names) Great area to camp and was a great place to fish back in the late 80's and early 90's

Weird, when I checked the stock list on Sunday, the Mammoth lakes weren't on it (I have a printout to prove it!), but now they are. Hopefully they were just cleared this week and stocking can finally begin, and they just haven't issued an update to the "cleared" list.

For the OP, though, looks like neither Starkweather or Sotcher are on the list, though.
