Good morning,
Well, after fairly recently returning from Crowley a few weeks back with Seng and the boyz, I couldn’t wait to get back up there as soon as I could. My daughter Britney saw my last report and pictures, so she really wanted to go with Daddy also. So, I talked to Seng, and we decided to plan another trip to arrive on Friday, June 25th and stay until Sunday, June 27th. Posted up the trip to see who could go with us, and we ended up getting 6 total. The crew this trip consisted of Seng, Myself, Britney, Tom, Richard, and Charles. So we booked a smaller condo for this trip, and unfortunately, put on a waiting list for a pontoon, which we never did get.
Original plan was to pick up Seng at 4:00 am, but then decided to leave a bit earlier. With Britney super excited about this trip, we packed most of our gear in my truck, and decided to pick Seng and Tom at 3:00 am.
Well, due to my sleeping issues, and Seng not calling me like I had asked him too, lol, we didn’t arrive at Seng’s till about 3:30 am. We loaded the truck, and were off to the Sierra’s for another Sac Perch/Trout hunt weekend of fun!
SIERRA’S DAY ONE
On the way up there, I was hoping Britney would sleep a little bit, which didn’t happen, she was way too excited about this trip. But that didn’t stop Seng and Tom from sleeping, lol. It was a nice drive up there, I love driving at this time, no traffic and very peaceful. Once we made our way up the 395 a bit, Brit and I noticed some rain clouds, which I expected, weather was calling for scattered t-storms on Friday, and nice weather on Saturday and Sunday. So we drove through patches of rain, pretty heavy at times. We stopped at a gas station prior to arriving at Bishop, and it poured on us for a few minutes.

We arrived at Bishop a short time later, greeted with clear skies. Our plan was to fish Intake 2 for a warm up session, and we also found out they stocked it the day before, so we were very hopeful. Once we arrived at Intake 2, we were greeted by a LOT of people fishing already, much, much more than the previous trip. Our spot where we planned to start out was already taken, so we decided to fish the dam area. Made the short walk over to the other side of the lake, and proceded to start fishing in hopes of catching some trout. Today’s ammo was 2 lb test, Smoke mini jig, tipped with Fish Crack.
Fish were boiling everywhere, but they just didn’t seem to want to cooperate today. So I took Britney over to the water intake, had her cast into the current, and after a few casts, fish ON!

The fish jumped, so I saw that it was a very nice fish, and told her to take her time with the fish. Plus the fish kept going into the strong current of the intake, so she listened to Dad and after a really good battle, I was able to net this NICE hookjaw for my baby girl! Her first Sierra’s fish! Great job baby girl!

After that, it was pretty much dead at the Intake, so we headed back to the dam area to see how Seng and Tom were doing. They had a couple small trout on the stringer, so we decided to fish with them for awhile to see what we could catch in this area.

After a few minutes, Seng hooks a fish, and lands his first ever Brown Trout! Nice job homie!

That was pretty much it, so we decided to head over to the lodge, check in, and then go grocery shopping for our weekend! Packed our gear, walked to the truck, loaded truck, and headed North to the lodge!
After about a 45 minute drive to Mammoth, we arrived at the lodge, and checked in. Thank god we got a first floor condo this time, it made our life easier this trip! Lol

We unpacked our gear, showered, and headed to Von’s in town. Right after we left, Richard and Charles called and passed us on the way, so they decided to go shopping with us. We arrived at von’s, introduced each other, and shopped till we dropped, lol! We got a LOT of food! We went over budget slightly, which we all made up for later, thanks guys! Went back to the lodge, and unpacked our food. Seng wasted no time starting a late lunch! Lol
We all ate our late lunch, and just chilled until it was time to start dinner. I grabbed the steaks and chicken and headed to the BBQ, and let Britney swim for awhile. The water was WARM! Nice!!!

After dinner, we all cleaned up, and the boys had a few drinks while we watched The Simpson’s Movie, one of the movies Britney brought with her. After the movie was over, the rest of the crew decided to do some ninja fishing
Britney and I watched a little TV, and decided to hit the sack, morning was going to come EARLY! Lol! What a GREAT first day with my daughter, Seng, and GREAT new people we met! My daughter was very happy! <3
