So I got down to the lake at 4ish. I got set up with my carp rig, and got a hit early, but then after 45 minutes or so I landed my first carp.

After that, RiverCityCarp showed up and joined me. I landed 2 more before leaving. Unfortunately for RiverCityCarp, he didn't have the same luck. I left around 7pm.

It was nice to just plop down and relax. Next time I go, will probably be a bass trip.

What do you use for bait in Fairmount Park? The usual?

Corn, Mealworms, Bread, Nightcrawlers. I've seen fish caught on tortillas, carne asada, and all manner of bait. But my top choice for carp is corn.

Leave those Carp on the ground for the Raccoons to eat. :EyePop: :EyePop: :Rolls Eyes:

While this is something I would do at a lake like Big Bear, Fairmount is hard enough to fish as it is. I'd prefer to let these guys go back, so I still have something to catch besides Bluegill :)

I think the carp are the reason why fairmount is hard to fish, With them stiring up the mud and making it hard for the bass to see my lures!!!

The "Carp" looks like "crap" because of the horrible lake conditions they live in! There is not a hint of orange on that fella. Thanks for the pics as evidence, lol. Let us know how your bass trip goes next time and what you use for bait.

This is as ghetto as it gets...I do not know what to say.
