Green Valley Lake On Father's Day

Some of my family and friends decided to head up to GVL to do some trout fishing on Father's Day. We left Ontario at around 3:30am just to get a prime chunk of real estate on the shoreline.

We all found a nice patch of shoreline, and had our lines in the water by 5:30am.

After the sun showed it's face, the trout action started. Those trout were hitting one hook after another.

Now this one catch was a trip. I was kicking back chatting with the family and drinking my coffee, when someone yells "You got a hit!!!" I see my rod bending a dancing around. I go to grab my rod and my buddy James' rod that's besides mine goes bendo too. We were thinking, "sweet, double hookup." As we're both reeling in, we only notice one trout in the water. So we're thinking maybe my catch crossed and snagged his line, but that wasn't the case. Check out the video below:

After breakfast I decided to find out what other type of fish reside at GVL. So I got out the fly rod went on a mission, and this is what I found:

My pop's breaks in his newly custom wrapped rod (by Larry's Custom Warps & Flies) by hooking into a few nice size rainbows. Nice catches dad!!!
