Wow, what a great weekend! First of all - Dana & Donna, massive thanks for laying on another great event! Also, many thanks to Bob Barr for the coozies we all got to take home with us!
Right, so Gator and I set off Thursday morning. I was avidly following the France/Mexico game on my phone on the way up, and was so stoked that the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys were beating by Mexico
As usual, we stopped off at Bishop Creek Lodge on the way up the hill, and finally got to our cabin around 2.30pm. Said hi to some of the guys who were already there, then we headed out along the creek for a bit of stream fishing. Gator got 1 fish out of the hole at Habergers lane.
In the evening, we headed to BCL again for the Lakers game, it was a brilliant crowd down there!!
Friday morning, I dragged my butt out of bed to watch the USA game down at BCL, and then at 11.30 we watched the England game. Bit hairy there........
We then fished the creek for a few hours but nothing doing :Crying:
Koshaw invited us over for a steak dinner with him, Greg and their friends Theron and Adrian. Massive amounts of food. Greg made a stunningly good salmon bisque, and then the steaks were awesome! Many thanks, Koshaw & Greg for inviting us!

Saturday morning we didn't get our butts in gear till about 9.30am, and we fished Intake II to no avail. We then headed over to Lake Sabrina for a bite to eat and to say hi to Rick and Patty. I can highly recommend the hot dog. Donna popped in while we were eating, and once we were done we went and fished with Donna and her lovely dad Bob.
We watched as the guy's boat fell off the trailer......and I must admit it was me that persuaded Donna to take the picture in Dana's thread
I managed to get a fish out of Sabrina, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
That evening was the Team57 dinner - Jared and Hannah did a great job with the food, and we had lots of laughs with Steve, Michelle, Greg Madrigal and his nephew Scott! I won a rod and reel combo and a bag of tackle kindly donated by Bob Barr!

As soon as the dinner was done, the power went out in the resort - Jared managed to get it back on after 15 minutes or so and we all congregated over by the chimney were we had a huge fire going. It was a really great night!
Sunday morning brought a slight hangover (what????) and we didn't get up until around 10. We got a boat on South Lake, and caught a fish trolling. Then we headed back to the inlet and just slayed them! It was a really fun day!
Sunday night we went over to Greg Madrigal's cabin, and had awesome tri-tip, chilli and salad. We also had a hell of a lot of laughs! Thanks Greg for having us over!
Now, on Thursday when we arrived, Gator said "wait, why do we have to go back Monday?" He's retired, I'm unemployed, so we opted to stay an extra two nights down at Bishop Creek Lodge. We headed down the hill, and then Gator took me on a tour of Mammoth as I'd never been, and we ended up at Mono Lake which is just stunning!

That night, Tina & Kacie from BCL came over for an hour and we had a great time just laughing and talking.
Tuesday we stayed local, we caught the Nigeria/S. Korea game at the lodge, and then watched the college baseball. But wait.....there's a surprise in store!
It's Gators birthday tomorrow (Thursday), and we're good friends with the staff & owners of BCL. I asked Tina if she could get a cake, and I was able to get a card.....Gator wasn't expecting the little surprise party we threw for him! He had no idea!
