I look forward to this particular TEAM 57 event every year, as it is always a success and I get to enjoy the company of family & good friends and even do a little fishing...... THIS YEAR, Donna's Dad "Bob" would be joining us.......... PERFECT!

Donna & I loaded up the truck Weds morning and headed up 395.........

Our first stop was the Indian Wells Springs Brewery for a few bottles of Black Cherry Soda and a couple 4 packs of Sour Apple Soda for TEAM 57 member "Billy B" wife Pann.......

Gotta love their California Historical Landmark Designation number! LOL!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner051.jpg

I picked up a bottle of these for Sansou........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner052.jpg

Got into Bishop a little before 3PM and had lunch at Jack's......

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner055.jpg

Donna & I checked into our usual cabin about 5:00pm on Wednesday 6/16 and set up a few things to get us ready for the next 4 days at Parchers.....

Later on that night we decided to cook up a few Brats..........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner068.jpg

And a couple of marshmallows later on...........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner070.jpg

We called it a night after we roasted a few marshmallows over the fire and then
kicked back inside the cabin and watched "The Hangover" for the 57th time! Gotta love portable DVD players!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner064.jpg

The next morning I watched Donna put on a fishing clinic at Bishop Creek where she scored an easy limit......
Including a couple of VERY nice fish!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner074.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner085.jpg

Always beautiful........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner088.jpg

Thursday night Bob, Donna, & I met Wingnut & Blackwater in Bishop at Whiskey Creek where we all had dinner & drinks and watched the Laker's win the NBA championship....... good times!

The next morning we got up early........ and headed down to the Parcher's Cafe for the FREE TEAM 57
"meet & greet" pancake breakfast!....... As usual, it was a bit chiily that early in the AM!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner095.jpg

YUM! Pancakes & Pepsi.......... breakfast of champions! LOL!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner097a.jpg

As usual, it was a FULL house!

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner099.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner100.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner102.jpg

After a great breakfast with everyone...... we headed over to Intake II for a day fishing the shoreline ..........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner104.jpg

We spotted "Big Daddy" Mark working the water hard .........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner106.jpg

While others did great......... our group had a tough day and Bob & Mark were the only ones to score a fish at Intake II in our group........ the wind came up late afternoon and we called it a day........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner109.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner160.jpg

That evening Donna, her Dad & I headed down to Bishop Creek Lodge where we met Wingnut, Blackwater, Greg Madrigal & his nephew, for a GREAT dinner.......

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner111.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner113.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner114.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner115.jpg

I really enjoyed having dinner with all these folks..... good people, good times and memories that will last a lifetime.

The next morning....... Donna's Dad convinced me to try the new "Parcher's Breakfast Buffet".... and it was GREAT!...

Here's Bob's son-in-law, Mark........ Bob.... & Bob's future son-in-law (me) .....
(How come Bob is the only one not smiling?).... LOL! .....

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner116.jpg

After breakfast, we loaded up and headed for Sabrina.......... where Bob & Mark fished from the shore.......

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner117.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner118.jpg

And Donna & I took off in a boat...............

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner123.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner125.jpg

Interesting conditions.......... weather was pretty good except there was a bunch of wind at the dock.......... but by the time we got to the other end of the lake, there was hardly any wind........ and the bite was ON........

Donna caught her limit first.......... mostly stockers........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner128.jpg

I managed a limit a little later on that included a couple of nice fish..........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner131.jpg

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner119.jpg

It was a GREAT day on the water at Sabrina, both Donna & I limited......... as did Bob & Mark on the shoreline......

When we got back to the dock............ we spotted Sue with a fish........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner138.jpg

AND............. this poor guy had his boat come off the trailer at the Sabrina ramp...... it had all his gear inside and everything spilled out everywhere onto the ramp

The guy was understandably upset, but a few people pitched in and everything got picked up and put back in the boat, and the boat was reloaded with a little help...... no apparent damage except for a bruised ego maybe.

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner136.jpg

Another great day......... with family & friends..........

That night we headed back to Parcher's for the TEAM 57 dinner and one of the LEGENDARY Team 57 raffles................. and as usual, the place was packed and sold out and EVERYONE.......... yes EVERYONE......... went home with a prize courtesy of TEAM 57!

I'd also say a special thank you to Wingnut, BeBop, Big Daddy & Koshaw for their generous donations....... its members like them that help make TEAM 57 events popular & successful! THANK YOU!

I'll let the pictures do the talking........

Ill sort thru some more photos and add more later..... but in a nutshell, the dinner was AWESOME (thanks to Jared & his hard working staff)......... EVERYONE that attended the TEAM 57 dinner went home with a raffle prize....... and some went home with a MORE THAN ONE!

Everyone who wore a TEAM 57 t-shirt was given a FREE jar of Berkley Power bait! COOL!
We gave away a TON of prizes including 12 rod & reel combos & much much more!

After dinner........... we all headed outside for a campfire and BS session........... it was great fun!
Congratulations to "Kung Pao" Blackwater for earning his TEAM 57 merit badge in campfires! LOL! J/K!

Thanks Arthur for dinner, I always appreciate your generosity, but more importantly, your friendship.

Thanks to Rich (Sansou) for the great tips and for loaning me some very productive trout lures........
(I think I only managed to lose ONE!)

As always........... I would like to thank EVERYONE that took the time and effort to participate in this event......
I won't list all your names, but you know who you are and I want you all to know that I APPRECIATE your participation....
YOU guys are the ones who make these events fun! Im very lucky to have so many friends.

Thanks again to Jared & his staff who always go above and beyond the call of duty........

And most of all, thank you Donna....... I couldnt do these events without your help and guidance..... they get easier & easier because of your insight, organization and attention to detail........ thank you, I love you...

And one final note.............. Donna hadn't seen her dad for almost a year......, and because of different circumstances, (like Donna living in Saudi Arabia for a while)..... Donna & her dad had NEVER spent a Fathers Day together.... well this year they finally did.

They fished, they laughed, and they shared moments that BOTH of them will never forget.....

I'm PROUD to have been part of this very special weekend for them.........

http://fishinghotpage.com/users/tmp3/Baitrunner161.jpg

See you all soon!

Thank you Dana & Donna for your tireless efforts in putting together another fantastic event for Team 57. It was great to see all the long time members and meeting some new ones too. I had a great time hanging out with all you guys and gals and looking forward to doing it again next year!
Jared, thanks buddy for being such a fabulous host... and your staff for my extra special monster cookies & ice cream dessert.
Good times!!!

I really enjoy stream fishing and Phuong (Blackwater) hasn't been up to the High Sierras in almost 20 years so we wanted to concentrate on fishing the creek for most of the trip. It was the right call as we caught a couple dozen nice Alpers, a few stockers and countless little Brownies in the two days we fished (Friday & Saturday). Covering miles and miles of creeks and streams was quite strenuous but well worth it.

Here's the adventure thru my eyes...

We caught fish just about everywhere we went. I used my Spiderman Kidie pole combo for 90% of the trip... so much fun catching all the beautiful Trout on it.

Pann and I had never met anyone from Team 57 ... and had never been to Parcher's. WOW ... did we come away having met some great, friendly people. Dana and Donna were so welcoming and deserve a lot of thanks for all their efforts and a well planned event. Smitty and his gang were the quintessential hosts.

Everyone on the "Team" made us feel like we were part of the family including the Steve (rcfb?) and Michelle ...who helped us with their flashlight ... during the power outage ... so us Oldtimers could get back to our cabin (and not smooch along the way, of course).

And thanks for singing "Happy Birthday" to my new bride (lol)

To all of you whom I met, I will enjoy having a pleasant face to put with a name. Wish we weren't so far away (well maybe not - it's pretty nice up here) ... but wish we could make it to some of the fun events.

Thanks to all ... looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Dana,

From the great report and pictures it confirms that the Team 57 Parchers events are the best of the best and I can only wish I could have made it there to share Good Times with Family and Friends, enjoy some of that great looking food and enjoy the Fishing as well. It looks to me like everyone there had a really good time.
You and Donna make a good team My Friend and I'm looking forward to seeing both of you real soon.:Thumbs Up::Thumbs Up:

Between Dana and Wingnut that was one heck of a dual report, nice read guys! Looks like Team57 got into some nice looking fish up there, great to see the Alpers back in the mix this season.

Unfortunately for me it always seems like something keeps me from making it up highway 395 for the 57 Sierra event. Dad having open heart heart surgery 2 years ago the same week, starting with a new company last year in May and just flat out too much "life stuff" on my plate this year....but I will say I was thinking about you guys and almost drove up Saturday afternoon just to return early on Sunday. Its always cool to share a good laugh with old friends, as well as meeting new ones that eventually become someone you feel like you have known for many years...guys like BigDaddy, BeBop and Maverick are prime examples personally.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it was a good fix for those of us that have to fish vicariously through you this time around. Keepin the Team57 spirit alive is what life is all about...family, friends and fishing :Thumbs Up:

Just razzzin ya bro!

On a serious note.....I think if you just stayed a day at the lower elevation in bishop and maybe just jumped up to southlake for a few hours........The next day you would be fine. It's the elevation increase to fast that gets some folks!

Still trying to pick up a perch with chopsticks dude! :Head Bang:

I've gotten altitude sickness a couple of times - dizziness, nausea etc. Fortunately I recognized what was happening. Basically all you can do is stay well hydrated. I also took a raglan (anti-emetic) and was right as rain after half an hour.

Nice!

This is the Team 57 spirit at its finest.... Family, friends and lotsa fun. Kudos Dana & Donna for putting this event together. I need to get back up there.

Dana: Thanks for the jar of frog balls. Of course, I will be reciprocating the gift with a pickled seafood delicacy known in these parts of Colorado as "Rocky Mountain Oysters". You'll love'em.

Wingnut: LOL @ the superman pole! I need to take you to a few trouty places around here in CO that will smoke that kiddie pole. Take care, see you around!

Yes - there is a pill for altitude sickness - I can't remember the name of it but its new and is specifically for short trips into high altitudes. Ask your doctor, he/she should know.
