Gone from the valley all the way to San diego

Went down to San Diego to fish the Chubasco2 for some yellows on the 3/4 day friday trip. I left the valley around 2am on friday after getting off work at 1sumthin am., and arrived at the landing around 4:10, thanks to Ernie with the assist on directions. This would be my first time fishing on this boat and the Coronado Islands as it was the destination for the day. On the way out to the islands I dropped on a galley table and hit snooze til we got to our first spot. When we arrived there were 'cudas boiling off the stern as the deckhands tossed out livelys while we anchored down on the best mark. I worked a blue/white ironman5 and got a few to commit but shook them off at the rail. Not a big fan of 'cuda meat. Capt. Trevor would work the area HARD in search of yellows, not giving one spot more than 30 min. if there were no signs of the right kind. On our third stop it was total chaos! The yellows were boiling from bow to stern, port to starboard. I got my first bite on a Tady45 but was beat by a damn dog, and needless to say that these island dog's are BIG! I couldnt get it away fast enough as this dog chased my tail (no pun intended) but atleast I got some head.lol. Switched over to a lively flylined on a ringed 2/0 on 20# way out off the stern and got bit. The fish were all on this spot as well as p/v's and boats from SD. At one point this jet skier ran up on the boat at full speed, yelling "you took my jig, you took my jig!" and everyone on the boat was looking around like..wtf is this guy talking about? This guy was hell bent on letting us know he was pissed because he started doing donuts around the boat, then started a throwing the jig towards the boat with it landing less than 5' from us at times. So we make a move and the guy follows! We must have moved 4 or 5 times because of this clown and he would continuously follow us, riding right along side us from spot to spot. At one point he took out a knife and was waving it around screaming who knows what. Trevor had notified the coast guard but they couldnt respond because we were in Mexican waters. This was insane and by now i'm pissed! So I gave up on fishing and pounded a few cold ones. We would get to the spot, anchor down, then here comes captain INSANE-O on his jet ski with his lunatic antics doing donuts and tossing jigs at the boat. The crew were saying they had never seen anything like this before. We must of wasted 2hrs of fishing time moving around trying to shake this A.hole and get him run out of gas, but to no avail. Then, I think he realized that this was a chess game, so decided to live life and move on... finally, back to fishing! Checkmate FOO! We made a few more runs and some anglers picked off a yellow here and there, and I got a nice sized tree fish. This was the high/low point of the day worth reporting, i'll let the pix tell the rest...

I plan to make this trip atleast once a month, I'll post up in the rendezvous before I go if anyone wants to join me. The boat owner, Captain and crew are all great and make it happen. Good times and tight lines, til next time, get your fishOn!
