Well that time finally arrived my trip to Oklahoma and fishing paradise.Have to say man! I know what heat and humidity are like wowzers!! but there was fishing, there was beers, there was my honey..What can be better? ok picture time lots of them ready 3...2...1
started fishing the pond errrr... small lake i pulled that 8lbs bass last year...did well on the rat bass
on rattle traps in my fav color then switched to pitching plastics rat city..

since no larger types wanted to play..off to the Arkansas river a mere 3 min drive
on with wacky worm i had epic results at Prado the other day (note bass here on Oklahoma not hip to this style well
the ones i bagged)

did farm more than i landed was fun...

a slight detour from my fishing was a road trip to Dallas to go to an Anime convention A-KON 21 It was fun but, whats up with them tentacles??
we get back off to Grand lake o' Cherokees..let me tell you I was one happy Weirdo
gal rested a spell...DUDE! i was off to the lake sky was overcast..."TOP WATER!" on goes the zara spook
got me a mess of rat spots..just about every cast was a crash on my bait did get a few nice ones

next day was the same top water early the wacky work rest of day..here have a peep

later we catch the pretty looking sunfish? can someone ID it?

and the every popular " One last cast." got me an 11.6 carp( stand corrected a buffalo new species for me and new PB)...man what a fight on 6lbs line WOOT!!!

I had a blast fishing and visiting with loved ones...let me tell you what in a very short time i am moving to Oklahoma
All fish were released ..well except the carp it went to feed a family of red foxes..

Nicely done! Sure looks bassy out there.

Was just looking / searching back on this forum at reports from a year ago and came across your last OK report... Best of luck on your move back to OK. Sure beats fishing IE canals!

Longear sunfish. Second fish is not a carp, but a Buffalo. They actually taste good. :LOL:

lmao right idea, but wrong fish!

smokehound:..thanks was not quite sure..what it was ..so went with carp...cool a new species it did have the kookiest set of lips on it like rubber..man that thing fought

El Weirdo, I would tentatively identify that sunfish as a Longear Sunfish. Some of my relatives and I actually caught some fish which appeared to be those in Putah Creek once when they were living in Davis. Oklahoma is one of the states my wife and I haven't gotten to yet. I am looking forward to fishing there.
