Nph lures???

Hey i fish at the bay alot, and i usually just use a liter with "2 hooks and fresh mussel with a 2 ounce torpedo weight. We've been catchin decent amount's of fish, but after getting a huge bite and having half my leader bitten off sunday, i want to catch whatever it was. Does anybody know what kind of lure i should use to hook a cuda or what set up to use to catch a batray?? Thanks.

for the cudas try using some krocs, i like the chrome, blue and green mack patterns. as for the rays i just use a heavier setup. you can go crazy and get spectra and all that but i just stick with cheapo 20lb-30lb mono on a big spinning reel or conventional reel. good luck

Sounds like a batray annihilated your leader :LOL:

Batrays are pretty easy to catch-- presentation wise, that is. they will readily hit a piece of mackerel, so long as its on the bottom.

Thats the problem with using mussel X( Its like.. a batray's favorite meal. I'll be targetting the sargo, and all of a sudden a monster bat will glide by and bust my leader..
