After hearing alot about this little lake, I decided it was time. All my friends pussed out, so i went solo. Bought my Adventure pass at Mountain hardware in Wrightwood, then hit the lake.

I started out using the inflated crawler trick, but these were being massacred by mystery fish (small bluegill, I think). I switched to some powerbait, and within 10 seconds it was fish on! I lost the small stocker right next to shore recast, and within 10 seconds another hit!

The second fish swallowed the big time so I was unable to release.
This is a nice little, and I will be returning soon (especially after buying the yearly Adventure pass)

I'm heading there thursday. After reading your report I can't wait. How long were you there and how many did you catch?

I wasn't there that long and if you keep casting to the middle of the lake, the fish a majorly stupid. It's wide open, but they are pretty small, maybe a 1/3 of a pound

the lake is chock full of small gills. the stockers dont last long, and with the weather warming up they wont stock much longer. lots of people can show up after a stock, so remember to bring your manners. good luck!

went to jackson yesterday with my daughter(5 years old) and a buddy. We caught about 10-14 little blue gill using garlic worms and 2 goldfish which were the biggest fish we caught. The group next to us were catching numerous trout on rainbow powerbait. I switched to the various types of powerbait i had (no rainbow of course) and had no luck. The weeds were getting thick. But fun for all, already looking forward to our next trip back.
