Fished with my son at NPH on Sunday for a few hours from 9:30am on the kayak. Beautiful day, slight wind with am overcast. Met Fisherman from Long Beach fishing on his tube. Nice meeting you. The bite was very consistent with lots of small halibut, some spots, a couple of sand dabs (?), even a mackerel. Nothing large, but a lot of bites and quite a few missed sets. No croakers today. For some reason, in the afternoon, the current seemed to be really moving even though the tide change wasn’t that large. Anyway, lots of fun and nice weather on the harbor. Here are a few pix:

Those are diamond turbot. Quite tasty, actually. I like them better than sand-dabs.

WTG on the Turbot.

Next time put a mack fillet on a big hook and drag that around.
I think your son would like getting towed around in a Yak by a Big Ray or Shark for a while.

Hey, FFLB, for sure we'll be out there again soon. It's a blast to catch so many different types of fish. Forgot to mention, all fish caught on Gulp Jerk Shads in various colors on the drop shot and 6lb test. I don't think the 6# will hold up too well against a bat ray.
