HOT SUMMER DAYS BRING THE CARP IN SHALLOW TO FEED, THIS TIME OF YEAR USING SPOT FISHING TECHNIQUES GIVES YOU A CHANCE TO NAIL A BACK YARD BEAST. I LANDED MY PB FOR THIS CITY PARK A 33.3LB COMMON, FOLLOWED HER UNTIL SHE STOPPED TO FEED AND FLY LINED SOME NIBBLETS UNDER HER NOSE AND WHAMMM!!!

I DID'NT GET THE 50 LB BACKYARD BEAST THAT'S BEEN BREAKING AND TAKING RODS AND SNAPPING LINES FOR FUN, BUT EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY AND MINES COMING, GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!!

WOW!!!! i've been wanting to catch something similur to yours but have no clue. there are like 4 of them in apollo park, in lancaster but have no idea how to catch them. tried powerbait, cat fish dow bait. Any pointers throw them my way... anxious to battle one of those beast.

Dang man that thing is a hog. There's this one MASSIVE carp at eisenhower park that I just cant get.

I flyline too, tried hair-rigs, and just about every morsel i could think of. I did what you did too, i waited til he stuck his nose down to browse. Used 6 lb test too. He's gotta be pushin past 30 lbs.. just titanic.

He was eating the figs that drop from that tree, but wouldnt touch any i rigged up.. I think he must be waiting for them to soften and ferment a bit.

I'm gonna doing some carping too later on. Good job on the bruisers.
