Hello again. Yep...here is another week of Castaic Lake Striper fishing. All I can say about this week is work is overrated. Woke up this morning and I did not feel like doing any work. I had 2x the load of work to finish up cause I went cattle boat fishing yesterday. Look at my to do list and all the deadlines I had. I went ahead and did most irresponsible thing. Attach my tin boat to my truck and went fishing again. Monday morning is going to be a *****. Besides that, I had another excellent day at Castaic Lake. Caught plenty of fish and had the time of my life again. Fishing was slow for me in the beginning but I stuck in there and caught lots of fish in the end. Here is the reckless day pictures:

Can you really blame me for not going to work on this beautiful day? Got a late start cause I had to repair the tops of rods. Broke off the tops of them when I closed the back of the truck with the rods sticking out. Quick fix with some sanding and super glue.

Have a bite. I have a new favorite Gallion Sandwich. Tuna Salad....soooo good.

Got to the lake just in time. They were sure to close the boat launching at any minute. The white caps were forming and there was a slight swell.

On my way to my fishing spot I spotted a newly fledged endanger California Condor. He is on top of the ledge near the white rocks. He kind of looked like a bald eagle with his white head.

First fish of the day a large unit. Woot!

Then landed some of these. They were all on top today. You can see my fishfinder in the background with them passing under my boat.

Action shot. Bendo!

Some school bus action.

That is not the ocean, that is Castaic Lake. The winds picked up drastically in the afternoon. There was no way for me to securely anchor so I surf my way onto the otherside of the lake where the mountain range blocks the NW winds.

Action shot from the otherside of the lake. Schoolie.

They bit well in the evening.

I think I got water on the lens.

The action was furious at the end.

Slayed.

Some guy was trolling too close to my anchor line and got caught in it. I think this is a banjo minnow?

Parting shot. Back to reality.

Hope you enjoyed another week at Castaic week with me. I had a ton of fun. See you next time.

Interesting lure. Not a banjo minnow though. They are rigged with a hook that goes through a ring that is attached to the nose of the minnow.

Good for you bro, .,.sometimes even when the paper is stacked high on the desk you must take a break from the office and slay away

I dig the lure, it kind of looks home made.,., i think i can rig one up out of a old bomber lure.,.,.

congrats on the striper slay even with white caps got got your fish on....nice

You always seem to do well out there no matter what the conditions are...
Keep the rod tips up and reel them in...
Work never ends...
