The coming Marine Protected Area (MPA) starts at the High Tide Line.
No Marine Life can be taken from a MPA
Crabs, snails, urchins, sea shells, rocks, kelp, eel grass ect.
It is not just about fish and lobster.
I'm not saying someone will get a ticket, but the way the law is written a person could legally be in violation for removing marine life from a MPA.
Example;
4 year old kid in Laguna digs up a few sand crabs in the new MLPA no fishing zone and puts them in his bucket. Then takes them up to show his mom above the high tide line.
That kid is in violation by removing marine life in a MPA.

Give her 4 years in toddler prison.:LOL: (Just kidding) but you could still call DFG for the violation.

What about Sea Urchins ?
Say Palos Verdes or any new Marine Protected Area get closed.
Does that mean Urchin Divers will not be allowed to harvest Urchins ?
I see these guys at Terminal Island unloading 300+ lbs of Urchins from a morning dive at Pt Vicente .
If they can't harvest then the Urchins could over populate and eat the kelp.
Sea Urchins are bad news for kelp especially the hold root.
Save The Sea Urchins = Say Goodbye To The Kelp

Yes they do some good things BUT thier first map submitted was for the
CLOSING FROM KING HARBOR TO POINT VICENTE (3 MILES OUT) :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
