Good morning,

I signed up for this tip a couple of weeks ago, and I am very, very happy that I did. The time I had here was absolutely great, and I can’t wait to do this again, very soon I hope. I enjoyed fishing and spending time with current friends, along with meeting some new great peeps that I hope that I can fish with again soon. I really want to thank Seng for putting this trip together, people do not relize how much time and effort goes into planning a trip like this, and he did a GREAT job!

The people that attended (sorry if I forget anyone, there were quite a few people this weekend):

Myself - ghetto dad
Seng - Teampanfish
Warren - Warren O.G!
Damien - damieN
Phong - Pokerface12
Hout - Seng’s brother
Tim - fishkiller
Dianne - Tim’s GF
Lang - Lang 813
Quan - Fish Taco
Mark - Fishbandit
Johnny - Catfish bandit
Vincent - Arctic

The original plan was to leave from Seng’s at 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, and Damien was going to come over to my house and spend the night. So at around 11:00 p.m., I really wanted to leave earlier, so I called damieN and Seng to see if they wanted to leave at 1:00 a.m. Friday morning instead. I didn’t have to ask them twice, so Damien arrived at my place at around 12:30 a.m., we unloaded his truck and loaded his gear in my truck, which I had already packed with my gear, and we were on our way to Seng’s to pick him and Warren up and get on the road to The Sierra’s. On a side note, I will have been up 42 hours before I actually got any sleep!

We arrived at Seng’s on time, where I had the pleasure of meeting O.G. Warren. We loaded their gear along with all of the food and drinks that Seng had purchased for our trip, and we were on our way up the 405 towards the Sierra’s at around 1:30 a.m.

It was a really nice drive, we had great conversations on the way up there, and a lot of laughs, which helped keep my awake. After a couple stops along the way, we finally arrived in the “zone” at around 7:00 a.m. The guys ended up getting a little bit of sleep here and there on the way up there, as a few of the pics will show, lol.

We arrived at Baker Creek at around 7:30 am, after some great navigation by Seng and Warren, lol.

This spot bit really well for them last year, so Seng decided that this would be our first spot to fish today. Once we arrived, an older gentleman that was camping came over and told us that they haven’t stocked this area for about 8 months. At first, we thought he was pulling our legs because he didn’t want us fishing there, but after a few minutes of him graciously helping us out, we knew he was being honest. So we threw our rods in the back of the truck, Seng called Mark, and we decided to fish Intake 2, where they had previously stocked with trout. Once again, we were off in search of our first trout of the trip.

Seng decided to take a nap while we were heading up the long mountain road, so between that and myself being very tired, we missed out destination by about 10 miles, so we turned around, headed back down the mountain, and finally found it. On the way down to park, you could see the trout boiling all around the lake, so we couldn’t wait to fish! We parked the truck, set up our gear, and walked over to the lake to finally get our lines wet.

Set up for today for myself was a yellow/red mini jig. I believe that Warren and Seng started out the same way, only Warren tipped his with Fish Crack, and was the first to hook up a trout. This fool might be new, but he can fish, lol!

Then Seng opened up his usual can of whoop ***, and also started to slay.

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i292/ghettodad/TPF%20SIERRAS%20AND%20CROWLEY%202010/IMG_1134-1.jpg

After watching them slay trout after trout, I finally landed one!! WOO HOO!! My first “Sierra’s” trout! Put up a nice little fight until I beached him.

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i292/ghettodad/TPF%20SIERRAS%20AND%20CROWLEY%202010/IMG_1137-1.jpg
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i292/ghettodad/TPF%20SIERRAS%20AND%20CROWLEY%202010/SDC11610.jpg

Warren snuck off like a sneaky little bastard for awhile, and came back with some more trout. I asked him where he went, and he told me the other side, and they’re biting, and asked if I wanted to go, and of course, I said YES! My luck on this side wasn’t very good. So we left damieN to nap in my truck, and we hiked to the other side of the lake.

Once we got there, Warren showed me where he caught the fish, at the spillway. So I casted into the white water, let my mini jig float with the current until it would push off to the right, and worked my jib back over the rocks. BAM!! I saw a trout come up and attack my mini jig, but didn’t get a good hookset on him. Made a few more casts, and fish ON! This fish would be my better fish for the day here, and it gave me an excellent battle on my 2 lb test. I finally got him close to shore, and I had to land him by hand, since none of us had a net. After a few tries, I finally get him up on the rocks. A solid 2 lb fish, so I was really happy. After thanking OG Warren for the spot hook up, I continued to fish till I got my limit of trout, then it was time to go. So I grabbed my Ghetto Stick Stringer that Warren made for me, and we headed back to the truck to figure out what we were going to do next. Nice start, we already had limits, and this was only day 1.

We decided that we would just jump on the freeway and head north to Mammoth, where Seng had our lodge booked, after we did some more food and misc. shopping along the way.

After finishing up shopping, we arrived at our lodge and Seng went to check us in. Once finished, we parked the truck, and unloaded all the gear and supplies into the room. This place was AMAZING! Great job picking this place Seng.

Once all our gear was unloaded and put away, we were all very hungry, so we decided to cook a late lunch.

Seng hooked up some BOMB *** fried rice which consisted of rice, shrimp, and Chinese sausage. He also hooked up some EXCELLENT fried trout!

Once we were finished with that excellent lunch, we cleaned up, showered, and decided to just chill the rest of the day at the lodge, and prepare for our sac perch slay at Crowley the following day. Of course, the Napping Crew napped some more, so I uploaded pics to my Facebook while I let them sleep.

I found out that a few other people were going to be arriving for dinner, including Arctic, Lang, and the Team Phenix guys. I also believe fishbandit Mark was coming too, but I am still tired as I am typing this, so sorry Mark if I don’t remember, lol. So I took out the chicken to marinate them.

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i292/ghettodad/TPF%20SIERRAS%20AND%20CROWLEY%202010/IMG_1153-1.jpg

Lang and Arctic showed up, then the Team Phenix guys a short time later. I can’t even remember what all we had for dinner, lol. I know we had baked Ghetto chicken, fried potatoes, salad, and more excellent friend trout compliments of Seng. Once we finished dinner, we cleaned up, and shared fish stories and the game plan for Crowley on Saturday. Day 1 was a TOTAL success and a LOT of fun, couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Ok, this concludes Day 1, fyi for the next couple reports, I might just link the pics to my photobucket, this took a VERY long time copying and pasting the codes from photobucket.

TO BE CONTINUED…………………
