View Full Version : 10,000 lbs of Catfish go into lake prior to the Catfish Opener!!!!

That's right folks you read the title corrrectly 10,000 lbs of Catfish where stocked into the lake today. 9,000 lbs of which was our regular stocker sized catfish, which this year is 2 to 3lb fish and 1,000 lbs of broodstock sized fish, which where in the 5-10lb range.
Also we releaded all of the tagged fish for the red, white and blue catfish derby which runs all summer long. All of these tagged fish are in the 3lb to 12lb range. The "General" was also released today sporting all of his colors which just so happen to be red, white, and blue. The "General" was last seen swimming down into the depths of Irvine Lake in a undisclosed location. Whomever, captures the "General" gets an automatical birth into the Catfish Masters.

Come out and get em guys these fish where hungry. They where all ready foaming on bait as we left them. The weather is perfect for catching these guys so they should be full speed this weekend. The first tournament is Saturday and it is set up to be a barn burner.

FNN was well represented lastnight...between your cousin, GrampaFish and Pontoon(1st place) it was a great night. 2Quick and I got the stripe, but will be back with a vengeance! :Twisted:

I heard the same thing up at the tackle shop...I'm sure pics and story will be up soon regarding the first weekend of catfishing at the Vine.
