Got a call from Martin “the looper” earlier in the day, and started to discuss fishing options for the next upcoming days, and after talking about a couple different fishing options and stories, I told him I’m now jonesing to do a twilight trip. The winds were forecasted to be under 10 knots, so I pulling the plug and loading up the “Red Drum” after work and headed down to Marina Del Rey. Unfortunately, the winds were blowing about 15 knots and the seas were getting pretty rough for the little tin boat and especially for Martin, who had never fished aboard the “Red Drum”.

We slowly made it out to a couple spots and the Bass were on a pretty good chew.

Here I am with a nice Sand Bass.

And a nice Calico Bass, which was sporting its nice golden spawning nose.

It wasn’t wide open but we a least got a couple respectable fish. I can’t wait to go again. HOOK-UP!!

Till next tide,
