Enjoyed a nice day on the water with my pops fishing off the kayak. We stopped counting after about 10 a piece. Wasnt wide open but we'd meter some bass and pluck a few and then move on to the next spot. Majority of the fish came off the gulp shrimp. We tried every color big hammer you could think of and not even a nibble. We did get into a hot bite towards the end of the day on the smaller models that had pinned a school of bait up against the walls. We both hooked and landed 2 bat rays that took nearly 30 mins to land that were alot of fun on the light bass gear. The first ray we hooked was fiesty and gave us a little acrobatic show in between making drag peeling runs :Big Grin::Big Grin::Big Grin: Water was off colored and cold around 66- 67 degrees, the water still needs to warm up before the bass begin to get really activehttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1720.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1716.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1717.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1718.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1719.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1714.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1711.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1710.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1709.jpghttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r57/freshfish11/IMG_1708.jpg

Very nice job. It was pretty wide open for most of the people that fished further back in the bay. DR is right, 67 isn't cold at all especially for the bay bass.

only reason i said was cold was last time we were there it was mid 70's. And i need to try going farther back into the bay. Do you guys get more croaker back there?

Looks awesome. I want to go with my buddies little boat. I was wondering what kind of setup you were using? Also what kind of rod and reel is that??
