2 hours in the surf

Hit the beach just south of Gladstones around 5:30pm. It was cool and overcast with an incoming high tide.
Caught this big ol croaker on my 1st cast and a while later a thornback ray.
I haven't caught either of these fish before and I was shocked at how hard the croaker fought.
I used a 1 oz weight carolina rigged with a whole squid for both.
