I was out at DVL on Thurday with Nancy and Mike. They wanted to get out there and do some fishing with me since the last time they were with me at Perris back in Feb.
So I met Nancy and Mike at the ramp Thursday morning and off we went.
We got to our first spot and I make a cast to show them exactly how to work the bait.. I make a cast and BOOOM!!! I get bit, fight it and reach down and lip a solid dvl 3 1/2 lber..
That was all Mike and Nancy needed to see to know they were ready..
So they start fishing and it was actually kinda slow for the first 40 mintues... I told them not to worry, we'd find them again..
And then Mike said "Theres one!!" and i net a NICE DVL 4 lber.. Good Job!!!
Then we kept working and they started to bite more and more..
Nancy would catch one then Mike would answer and catch one then Nancy would catch two and Mike would catch two...
This went on the whole day and they ended the day with about 20 bass with the biggest being over 4 lbs.
The fish were all caught in 10-18 ft of water on plastics and reaction baits... The key whether it was the reaction baits or plastics was to work them slowwwww...

Hey everybody...the summer patterns at DVL are beginning to take place.. Give me a call and book your trip with me for a day at one of our local lakes.. Perris is also really good as is Vail...
