Got to fish with the king of stripers, T/O on Wed. 6-2. What a day of learning for sure. Bob had us hooked up right away to get the skunk off both Doug R. and myself . Bob said it was because he saw some deer and he had on his lucky shirt. Had a long dry spell from noon 'til 2:00 then T/O dropped the rigs right over some feeding fish and Doug got a double hook-up of about a 7 & a 9 pounder. They immediately ripped off about a hundred feet of line before they started heading for the boat. Doug is no longer a "double striper virgin" and T/O needs a bigger net!
The boat traffic was nothing short of crazy. We saw 3 other boats and only one of those stayed for the afternoon. The lake was "flatter than piss on a plate" according to Bob.
What a great day of instruction, stories, life's lesson, camaraderie, laughs, therapy, and oh yeah, fishing.
Found a great way to wake Bob up, just give a tug to make the drag sing when he is concentrating on the graph.
The work is appreciated for constant searching, throttle control, changing rigs, studying the graph, and not to mention almost a 24 hour day on your part. Thanks Bob for all you did to put us on fish.
