Echo Park.... Carp problem?

Went fishing around 6am for a 1 hour session last week. Then i found bunch of carps floating (at least 8 of them) in one single area. I got skunked. The next day i went to the fwy side, and saw 3 dead carps. I talked to a local friend, and he told me that the week before they have pulled out about 100 of them off the lake. He said one of the officials said its something about a carp disease. Skunked again and off to work. I am done with Echo for another month ^.^

I hear there has been an out break of carp herpes at Echo. There is a story about it.

I was there last Sunday, but I wasnt fishin. I also saw alot of dead carp. The water was real clear towards the freeway side, and I saw what must have been thousands of juvenile bass fry in the southeast corner along the fence. Thats a good sign, I guess...
