This weekend, through a series of wacky coincidences, I had serendipitous pleasure of watching "Breakin'" for the first time in nearly thirty years.
Man, I had forgotten how great that film is!
So, this thread is dedicated to a continuing discussion of this cinematic masterpiece.
I'll get the ball rolling with one of personal faves - the scene where Turbo, Ozone and Kelly tear the sleeves off of their tuxedos when the hoity-toity judges refuse to let them dance... wasn't that awesome? I mean, what an in-your-face FU to the establishment?!?! and when Ozone steps to the front and declares "Ozone! Street dancer!" it gives me goosebumps every time.
What about you? What are your favorite scenes? Favorite lines? Favorite themes and metaphors woven into the rich dramatic tapestry of this story?

I must admit, I thought "Breakin'" was the coolest movie ever as a kid.
My favorite part has got to be the scene where Turbo is break dancing with a broom.

yeah! Now, that's what I'm talking about! What a powerful scene. Not only is it a pointed commentary on the similarities between the persecution of witches in the seventeenth century and the persecution of break dancers in the late twentieth century, it's also a KICK-*** example of baggy pants and magic!!! I've never looked at a broom in the same way since!

You all know or remember John claude van damn was in the movie also as a extra right? First dance scene clapping off beat wearing his normal black stretch short jump suit thing that he wears in most of he horrid movies

Oh gawd did you have too? I've got it recorded on my DVR my son seems to think he break dances really good haha yeah right but it's actually really funny watching him trying to mimick the moves
