How's the tilapia bite? And has anyone tried fishing the little stream southwest of lake balboa, I think it feeds into or out of the lake.
The bite is constant with little ones

we seem to find the best fishing starting at the end of July or beginning of August. the Tilapia Urban Recreational Derby is usually held there the first week of September...
That creek in the Southeast corner goes from the "lake" to the "river" and seems to have developed into a prime spot for rock-throwing...

When I was last there,I didnt see anyone catching nothing.And then again they had big fishing poles,thick lines,and the wrong baits.Unless they were fishing for carp.But Some people just dont know how to fish that lake.Its hot,and I bet anything the bite is also.Fish by the water fall.
