baitcaster help

been using spinning gear for 45 yr.
picked up an old ambassadeur 550 plus
a week ago at a yard sale .
pulled it apart lubed and rebuild.
it has no brake ( yes it`s old)
I think early 90s, but in good shape
I can allready cast it fine with the old
line on it.
I can`t find any info on this reel.
I would like to know what line i should put on it.
I will use it in the duct around bakersfield for stripers
and may be cats. thanks

Among several others, I have a 550 plus also...
Nice little reel, most round ambassadeur dont have brakes.
The casting is controlled by the Spool tension Cap.
Havnt used it in years, but ran 10# & 12# line on it just fine...
